2018 Toyota RAV4 Review #168

Two years of leasing has passed and it's time to change the diesel Qashqai in the maximum configuration LE +, for something else, after a month of choice, he fell for equal 4 diesel at maximum speed (for diesel), chose between maximum santa fe, Rav4, prado, lexus nx hybrid, the last one had to wait half a year, there was no chance to test Santa Fe, there was not enough for the Prado, and I didn’t want to consider a dummy, and 3.8 thought that it was a lot. As a result, bought Rav 4 dark blue metallic. Now I want to compare what it was and what I got: the only minus of Qashqai - in the second year, in cold weather, when the steering wheel was rotated, a creak appeared in the steering wheel in place, as explained in the service, this is all normal and not guaranteed. Everything else is five. What is similar in Rav4: the rear view camera is not washed, it sticks right away, there is a circular view on the porridge and the rear camera is washed. The light sensor can only turn on the near one when it gets dark, the qashqai is full of stuffing and the far one will turn it on and off when the oncoming traffic. rain sensor - works as well. Rav4 does not know how to park, the handbrake is a stick, when traveling, the leg rests on it, which is not comfortable. I didn’t like the electronic scoreboard, I got used to the electronic speedometer, there is no such thing here. The radio tape recorder from Yandex is complete trash ... Already signed up for the service, does not see mp3, it shows the video, but there is no music, the sim card from mts constantly loses connection with a maximum of 3g, if there is no connection, the Yandex navigator does not pave the route. Radio - whoever came up with it, you need to pull your hands out, you can only switch between your favorite radio stations from the steering wheel control, that is, I come to some city, stop, preferably in the city center, select radio stations to my favorites and enjoy .. Otherwise, just choose on the radio screen . And this is how it should be done in every area .... Nonsense ... The main respect is the folding of the rear mirrors - you can fold it only with a button and only if the car is running, it's a matter of habit, but I somehow got used to the Qashqai ears folded - the car is closed , you won’t spoil it here .... Diesel consumption is 70% more, in Qashqai it turned out 4.5l along the highway. Here is 7.8l. But maybe it hasn't rolled yet. Of the pluses, acceleration is a little faster, the seats fold into a flat floor, there is more space in the back and in the trunk. One gets the feeling that designers from Toyota simply do not need to change anything until they smell fried, until customers start turning away from the brand without filling. About TO - Rav4 every 10k, for Qashqai every 20k.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Review #176

Hello everyone ... camry v40 departing 370 thousand in 10 years. ceased to satisfy the changed requirements - she did not ask for money (more than that, and the replacement of consumables) the requirements simply changed - namely: higher ground clearance and less transport tax, because moved to live outside the city.. And the average mileage on the camry was 6000 per year... we decided to change cars. The way of life has changed ... (we mostly go to the shopping center once a week. And once every two months on the highway 600 km). Until now, I regret the sale a little - I really liked the soft, non-killable suspension, and the power reserve for overtaking.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Review #171

I read a huge number of reviews about the car, and strangely, I could not find answers to my questions. all reviews, including test drives in the same manner, are absolutely superficial about the appearance, buttons, lights, etc., and very few detailed engineering layouts for the mechanical part of the car (design features and operation of the engine, transmission, suspension, assembly flaws , body reliability, etc.), i.e. everything that is responsible for the resource and operational component. In this regard, I want to leave my opinion as a consumer who cares about the reliability of the car, the materials used in it, its Russian resource, maintainability, and ergonomic comfort, as an integral part of an expensive car, which I think include a car worth about 2 million rubles. What annoys: 1) howling in the engine compartment when starting a cold engine (possibly a generator, an overrunning clutch on it, some kind of roller due to improper tension of the drive belt or a valve, in general he ... knows it), 2) a click at the start movement in the area of the front left wheel (the reason is not known) the issue is exaggerated on the forum. 3) unfinished electric rear door, a lot of people complain, including me. Its work is not correct, freezing and slowness give reason to wonder if Toyota is reliable, and whether it has started to drive bullshit in the race for profit. What is worst of all is saving on fundamentals, on materials, on an engine, transmission, etc. 4) The work of the suspension does not reach the German counterparts, although I cannot but note the tendency to increase the comfort of its work. It works out large potholes comfortably, at small ones at speed there is an itch that is transmitted to the body and interior panels. The rattling of the DVR gives out this shortcoming very clearly. Perhaps this is still on the run-in (mileage 4000km). I think that to lung - drive the dream of Toyota Rav4 is still far away. 5) there is no back support in the back of the driver's seat, at least put a pillow on it. 6) why for Russian roads there is a lip on the front bumper (in the American versions it is not), and even with an absolutely not practical, ready to come off decorative overlay painted in silver (useless show-off for an amateur). 7) not practical seat upholstery, the skin of a young leatherette is shit for a car. More than 2 million rubles. . (There is no need to save on this, the buyer will easily pay extra for a good, high-quality, practical interior, because later he will save on dry cleaning, alteration, replacement of seat covers and after 5-10 years, the interior will not be overwritten, cracked and will not lose its appearance ). There are examples of practical leather interiors on cars of comparable cost. 8) metal protection of a plastic gas tank for Russian roads is required. About the desire to improve sound insulation, the sound quality of music, button illumination, etc. I do not want to write, because I think this is secondary.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Review #154

According to statistics, Toyota has the highest percentage of customer loyalty, 52% of Toyota owners change an old Toyota for a new one. What this loyalty is based on is not very clear to me, the cars are not outstanding in anything, that the exterior, that the interior, that ergonomics - everything is very mediocre. However, customer loyalty is a fact, and I myself confirm this fact, the third Toyota in a row. All three were bought new, from one dealer, moreover, from one manager. I won’t name him, I’ll just say - well done, smart, he knows his business. The first, Corolla e150 (Japan, 2008), was sold with a mileage of 96,500 km, the second Corolla e180 (Turkey, 2013) remained in the family, now the car of the eldest son, mileage 130,000 km, now RAV4 (Russia, 2018 onwards), mileage for today is 15700 km. I honestly looked at the cars of other manufacturers, felt, appreciated. But I did not choose anything for myself in the financial limit that I determined. The image of the new car looked something like this: the car should not be poorer than the 2013 Corolla in the “comfort” configuration, primarily in terms of the presence of security systems, and since “style plus” and higher correspond to this criterion from the current Corolla line, the price limit should correspond to this configuration, well, plus or minus a little, that is, 1200000-1300000. And a five-door body. Because it is more convenient and practical. And more suited to my needs. And for work, and for household chores, and traveling with the family. Several times, giving the Corolla OD for MOT, I received a Toyota Verso as a substitute and realized that the Verso met my needs much more than the Corolla. The next car I planned was the version. But they were removed from the line, they are no longer supplied to the Russian Federation. Even earlier, the Avensis-wagon left the line, the Auris-wagon was never officially delivered at all. Of the five-door Toyotas in my financial range, there was nothing to watch.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Review #11

I bought a car in August 2018 in an adventure configuration with a 2.5 automatic transmission engine, I decided to write a review after six months of operation. I bought a new car, I make a comparison with the previous one, - Honda SRV 2.0 automatic transmission, which I also took in the cabin five years ago. Six months was just enough to put everything on the shelves. Toyota is nimble thanks to the engine, smaller size and weight, more knocked down, it turns out to move much more dynamically, there are no problems with overtaking, a Honda with a 2-liter engine loses a lot, and even with 2.4, thanks to the old box and more weight, it’s still worse in dynamics . Everything is good in Toyota if you take it globally, engine, gearbox, chassis, appropriate stiffness, good multimedia screen with Yandex auto, steering wheel heating, windows, good light, comfortable fit, normal Shumka on reystaling is no worse than it was on my Honda. But as soon as we move on to the details, questions begin, and it would really be something significant, but these are penny annoying little things: the backlighting of the control buttons is scanty, there is no closing and adjusting mirrors, power windows, you poke and confuse at night, YouTube is full of options for collective farming of this backlight, no height adjustment of the passenger seat, the right rear-view mirror does not break when moving backwards, there is more oak plastic on the panels, there is no 12v outlet in the trunk. When I was choosing a car to replace, I didn’t consider Honda SRV anymore, the most important thing is now the variator, and this is evil on heavy cars, you can’t convince me of this, the second is a wild price of 2.0 - 2.5 mega rubles, further more. I took Toyota for 2 and this, in my opinion, is the limit of adequacy in the price for this category of cars. In general, the choice for me was from three Japanese: Mazda, Honda and Toyota, the new Tiguan is beautiful, but the Tsiashny engine and the DSG inherent in it put a bold cross, Mazda somehow didn’t go in, although objectively everything is fine there, well, not mine, by the way Korea it seems to be nothing, but as they say, the fall limit has not yet come, Toyota eventually won, but the design was controversial, but after reystaling it got better, smaller sizes and a trunk that I don’t use much, equipment is simpler, but the overall rating is 4+. I’m talking specifically about the combination of 2.5 with automatic transmission, a two-liter engine and a CVT, I don’t even advise you to look, well, maybe a pensioner in the city for bread, otherwise it’s a complete disappointment. It’s somehow chaotic and it seems that I even get the impression that I’m making excuses for my choice, but no, after six months the shortcomings are no longer so annoying, and what remains is the daily enjoyment of driving and confidence in the reliability and demand in the future of this car, like the previous one, which left in three day.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Review #111

The run-in took place in different modes, for me the run-in is the operation of the car in a careful mode, without sharp rooting or braking, urban mode and the highway. On the highway, the maximum distance is 600 km. After about 30,000 km, the car drove differently, faster and more interesting. Liu Ai92, Gazprom in winter, Lukoil in summer.
